The DoD STED Program conducted a sustainable technology expo with NSWC Crane at the Naval Support Activity (NSA) Crane Lakeview Conference and Training Center on June 14th, 2023. The expo coincided with the Strategic Environmental Research and Development Program (SERDP) and Environmental Security Technology Certification Program (ESTCP) Weapons Systems and Platforms Annual Technical Committee Off Site meeting. The Expo was attended by representatives from NSWC Crane, Naval Facilities Engineering Command, U.S. Air Force (USAF) Materiel Command, U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, U.S. Special Operations Command, U.S. Army Environmental Command, U.S. Navy Naval Air Systems Command, U.S. Army Combat Capabilities Development Command, Army Research Laboratory, and the USAF Life Cycle Management Center.
Attendees were introduced to the DoD STED Program and personnel by OSD Sustainability & Acquisition Director, Dave Asiello. Attendees also had the opportunity to meet with manufacturers of several successfully demonstrated sustainable technologies: biobased sorbents, sustainable door systems and access controls, biobased oils and lubricants, and biobased cleaner, lubricant, preservative (CLP) for weapons and weapon systems, as well as a portable operational intelligence analysis system.
