Sustainable Procurement Training
There are several resources for sustainable or green procurement training offered through the Defense Acquisition University (DAU), Defense Logistics Agency (DLA), and Services. Below is a list of training programs with brief descriptions and links to external websites.

- CLC 046 Green Procurement
Defense Acquisition University
Green procurement is the purchase of products and services with favorable energy or environmental attributes in accordance with federally mandated "green" procurement preference programs. The Department of Defense's Green Procurement Program is a comprehensive strategy for implementing environmentally preferred practices while sustaining the overall mission. The overall objective of this lesson is to identify the objectives and background of DoD's Green Procurement Program. There are no prerequisites for this course and participants have 60 days to complete the training module.

Defense Acquisition University
The DoD Government Purchase Card module presents the mandatory requirements and other guidelines to consider and apply, as appropriate, when using the government purchase card. Government purchase cardholders and billing officials will learn to be at ease with using the government purchase card while also being responsible and accountable.
- Buying Green: A Multifunctional Approach to Pollution Prevention
DLA Training Catalog, Workshop Number DCPSO00R750
This workshop provides an overview of Federal pollution prevention initiatives and how the relate to the DOD acquisition process. This course is DOD/Interservice Environmental Education Review Board (ISEERB) approved.
The workshop demonstrates to Federal employees how, through affirmative procurement, we can create markets for recovered materials and environmentally preferred products and services. The workshop includes a forum to share ideas and success stories, Highlights include:

Computer-based Training Course
This system will assist you with an understanding and awareness of ESOH requirements and will help you develop skills to perform tasks in a manner that maintains a safe, healthful, and environmentally sound work environment for AF personnel, their families, and the local community. This system sustains CSAF and Secretary of the Air Force objectives to deliver awareness and training in an efficient manner.

OFEE GPP Training
Presentation covers executive order and statutory requirements, Federal Acquisition Regulation provisions, each of the components of the Federal green purchasing program, examples of "cool stuff" from Federal agencies, example contract languages, and lots of references. Notes are provided.
- What Is 'Green' Purchasing, Anyway?
Offered through the Gov Online Learning Center (GoLearn) course is designed for contracting personnel, GCPC cardholders, PMs, and fleet managers. Course duration ranges from 1 ½ hours for GCPC cardholders to approximately 2 ½ hours for contracting officers and contracting officer representatives. Completion of the course satisfies the EO 13423 requirement that agencies provide training to contracting and program personnel. - The Energy Star® Program Training
EPA offers training on a range of energy efficiency topics — from the ins and outs of Portfolio Manager to guidance on improving the energy performance of your buildings and plants. And that’s all with no travel, no lost time out of the office, and no cost. Training modules cover topics such as: Energy Star® Purchasing and Procurement; Energy Star® -- An Overview; New Building Design; Benchmarking Tool/Portfolio Manager; Money for Each Energy Upgrades; The Five-Stage Approach to Building Upgrades; and Monitor Power Management.
- Environmentally Preferable Procurement Training
Department of Energy
The Department of Energy (DOE) provides information as a resource for the acquisition community. The training on DOE’s website was prepared by the White House Task Force on Recycling along with the U.S. Army Center for Health Promotion and Preventative Medicine. The training consists of a Power Point presentation which is divided into several modules. Depending on the audience, different modules can be used. The anticipated audiences are Purchase Cardholders, Acquisition staff including contract personnel, requisition and supply personnel, A-Es, facility management representatives, etc, and Management. The coverage is quite broad – it includes all the Greening the Government Executive Orders, and USDA’s Buy-Bio Program. There is also a Word script which, like the slides, is in modules which can be arranged to accommodate the different audiences
