Announcements
On October 1st, 2009, President Obama signed an Executive Order directing federal agencies to lead the way in reducing driving distractions from text messaging. The Executive Order prohibits text messaging while driving government vehicles, driving personal vehicles on government business, and driving off-duty while texting on government devices. DoD policy already prohibited government personnel from using hand-held cell phones or other electronic devices while on duty, or for anyone on a military base.
